So you run into situations where you are presented the calendar only but the hidden notes window seems to own focus. Relatedly panel focus seems to be broken, too. And then just have cmd-shift-n and cmd-shift-c switch between notes and calendar/tasks view. It would be a far more predictable solution to just have cmd-1 for toggling the first column, cmd-2 for the second one and cmd-3 for the third one without any interdependencies. If you use cmd-1, cmd-2, … cmd-6 a number of times you will find yourself eventually jamming keys desperately hoping to find your way (I ended up with 4 columns this way in one situation and with the calendar being wider than the screen in another etc.). To give you a basic idea with a randomly picked example: cmd-2 allegedly toggles the calendar / notes columns but closes the sidebar, too. There is lotsa random stuff going on when using the hotkeys.
