It makes quite a good bridge between regular Hidden Object games and something more adventure focused such as the Broken Sword series. It's not overly long which, given the $6.99 price tag, is unfortunate but it's still worth a play for casual gamers.
The puzzles aren't overly taxing but the experience is enjoyable. The crucial thing here is that it's all fun. Some may require piecing together a torn up note while others involve picking locks. Such puzzles are broken up with mini games that are similarly simple yet fun. Overall, Royal Trouble: Hidden Adventures is a light hearted affair through and through, and despite the suggestion in the App Store description, it's not really a Hidden Object title. For the novice gamer though, it's no doubt an immensely useful tool to have at one's disposal. While there is a hints system available, I rarely found the need to consult it. None of these conundrums are hugely challenging, making it an ideal game as an introduction to the adventure genre.
